The Adventure of Tigger the Cat !!!

This part of my story is the intoduction where I introduce Tigger and his personality and his hobbies which are playing music , becoming a DJ when is a bit older and playing games on his playstation . His mum doesn't want Tigger to be a DJ she says it is a silly thing of becoming a DJ it is better to become a mechanic or a business man when he grows up . Will Tigger the cat be able to make his dream come to live will he be able to convience his mum that he should be a DJ.

Today and yesterday we were doing the same thing it was really fun . We were in groups  of 4 it was me Mervlyn , Margaret and Iman .We did countings it was problem solving . We had to find out which cog tooth fits in the other cog . We found out that the odd number fits with the even so 6  and 7 would fit .

Character description

We have been doing our character description which which is pretty fun and we had to do 6 steps for the planning . I think it was fun because we got to use our imagination to make our character and the setting . So in it I named my character Cool Cat and their is a lot of cool things about him . I can't wait Tom start my story and publishing it so that others can read it and I can post it in my as a blog post so others can read it .

My Speech!

  Children should have pets

Introduction

Have you ever thought of having your own pet ? Well if you haven't then now is the right time to think about it. Well I think that us kids should have pets because pets can company you and playing with them might give you exercise. Did you know that feeding and caring gives kids more responsibilities.

Paragraph 1

Firstly, do you think you are responsible enough for a dog or other big pets there is no problem you could always get a pet hamster or rabbit they are easier to look after. From my opinion I think that having a cat is actually really easy to look after. Did you know that cats can live up to 15-20 years and that is quite long. Dogs they are actually not really hard to look after even though they cost a lot of money but it's worth because they would play with you help you and do many more things to help you with. There actually is no worry about responsibilities because you would know have to look after a pet straight away it would take a little bit of time to learn.

Paragraph 2

Secondly, do you think it keeps children out of trouble and teaches them new responsibilities? well my opinion is that it actually lets us kids enjoy and they can be kept busy while their parents are busy. What if you were in trouble by parents every day and when you had your own pet you were never in trouble you were always out of trouble. Fishes might be easy to look after but it's quite boring isn't it I would be like dust staring at a fishbowl but it depends if you would like fishes or not.

Paragraph 3

Lastly, Having a pet would teach you great responsibilities for you future. What if all the pets got sold out and you didn't get a chance to  experience get one. Did you know that 60% of the worlds kids want pets. Kids would also be able to have not just one pet but more pets which would teach them how to be even more responsible.

Conclusion

Remember us children can always become responsible when it comes to taking care of pets. It is also very vital for us kids to experience how to have a full time friend / pet.

Olympics sports

A sport I would choose for representing Newzealand at the Olympics would be Basketball because I really like to practices dribbling the ball also as passing the ball to other people in my team and I also like scoring in goals . I also like playing basket ball because it has great collaboration so no one would be left out in it.  It would help me be the best by making me more confident about playing other sports.

My iExplore reflection (Turtles and their shells)

For my iExplore I had my topic as turtles and their shells. My big question was why do turtles walk so slowly because they are famous for walking slowly and that their shells can be reassembled and the same goes for tortoise. I also found out the difference between turtles and tortoise. So I got this topic from my friend because she loves turtle so I was curious about why are they so famous for walking so slowly.

So what I learnt was all my questions and I think I really enjoyed doing this topic since their were amazing information about turtles like they can live up to 50 YEARS ! So I also made my presentation and only put down what I learnt , my big question , and facts about turtles  and their shells. From my iExplore I used my mindmap , KWLH chart which made me successful for my iExplore and helped my know what I should research about . I really love animals that also why I wanted to choose this topic. 

I think my next steps are to be more confident and present my iExplore so other people can get ideas from my iExplore and they can see they way I learnt things about my iExplore . My two other steps are to maybe work faster so I finish my iExplore faster my last step is to make a model or poster instead of making a presentation because models can show your learning in a better way then making a presentation .

My amazing day

Today in the morning we had had iExplore but at the same time we had a writing workshop about persuasive writing for our speech and we were learning the five main language features we had to have in our speech when we start writing about it. After iBreak we came back and we had a math knowledge workshop about place value but we had to be splitted up into 2 groups .I was in group B. Before the workshop we had to do daily three and I was doing math writing which was problem solveing and then finally it was our workshop. In outer workshop we were learning about the values of numbers and got to play a game called zapp and were had to be in groups of three . Then it came to IBreak 2 and I was with Vrishti and then after break  we had to do read to self with our best fit book I really enjoyed reading because I found my book interesting. Then we had to do a beep test which made me tired outside in the courts. I tried my best and I got to stage 2 and 5. We were doing this test for cross country which is coming up in a few weeks. At the end of the day we had to do blog reflection and had to reflect on the day. My favourite part of the day was doing the writing workshop because we got to learn the five main language features.

Todays reflection !!!

Today in the morning we got to choose what we wanted to do for learning and the people who didn't finish their learning pathways had to finish it before tomorrow.But in that block the yr7 learners had Stem which lasted the whole block so only the yr 6 and 5 learners got to do what they wanted and had to plan their day.After iBreak 1 we got the chance of finishing whatever we wanted to finish and the people that didn't finish the learning pathway had to finish it.I practised my Tikanga Maori things . Then at iBreak time I was with mrs Dillner until the end of IBreak and did read to self for 20 minutes and we had to do our weekly must does for another 20 mins and then afepter that we did our Tikanga Maori and I had road patrol so I had to go out early.

The collaborative community day !

we had the best day ever the collaborative community day.In the day we had a lot of challenges like in the morning we got splitted up into PB4L groups.Our learning coaches were Mrs Hooker and mrs Absolon and we had to stay in LH4 the whole day. There was only 3 lh3 learners which were me Prisha and Laila. We had 2 leaders on our groups it was me and Laila.we had a lot of LH2 and 1 's in our group.So we each got activities that had points like 1,  2 , 3 , 5 ,7 and 10  the 1 point ones were very easy but the 7 and 10 points one were challenging.We started of with the 1 points ones.I managed to complete one 10 point one with Laila it was creating  your own collaborative game.Then it was almost iBreak 1 and Ms Wilkes came over asked if me and Prisha could help in the stalls to make Milo their were all sorts of stalls over there.The rest of the day we did challenges and and then at 2 o Clock we had a whole school hui and found out that the wining team was the Ormiston Dimonds.My group came 4 place if think we still worked collaboratively.I think next time I would like to go to the break out and see if I can crack the codes.

Science today

Today at iExplore time the yr 7 leaders did science.We had My Clay come over and teach us about creating games in scratch it's a really cool website.We had to get into pairs I was with Vrishti.We got into scratch but had a few problems for signing in.Then me and Vrishti came up with a very good idea about a dog chasing a cat and the cat chasing the mice and the mice chasing a apple.

Tikanga Maori!

Today at iExperience time we did Tikanga maori.We practised a song called Aoteroa before we went to our groups And we had different lines for different groups in that.In our group we had to choose rako sticks or poi's we choose rako sticks and our group leader was Aleena.We had 14 people in our group.In it we had our own part of the song for our group and we had to make up new moves for it.

So we came up with our own moves for one line which was really cool.We also got to practise the moves and choose our own buddies.

My Soil Expreiment

We did a science experiment on worm habitats which was really cool.We had to go downstairs and it was really windy we first had to put soil in a small jar about 1/4 and then after that we had to fill it up with sand again 1/4 and then soil about the same amount. We then put some green leaves in there and went in the worm been to look for some worms in the worm bin. Karleil took out 3 worms and put it in.Then we had to come upstairs and show it to Mrs Pearson.

What I enjoyed was watching Karleil do it it was really cool .

Doing my amazing mathletics

How we do mathletics

In mathletics we need to have 2000 points every week.So we get a user name each and a password for mathletics.There are a lot of activities we can do it also helps us to get better at our basic facts and  multiplication and lots more.There is live mathletics where you can verse people and also challenge people from your habitat and and school.There are 10 levels for you. One other thing is that you gat tasks assigned to you from your Learning coaches and you can't to anything also until you do all ten tasks.My high score this year is 9305 points I did mathletics for 2-3 hours each day do get that much points.

My favourite thing is :

My favourite thing about mathletics it that we can do as much mathletics we want to do and we can see who has the most points .Another good thing is that we can use it at home and see if you can verse someone at home and see who comes in first place and second place.We can use mathletics in a lot of ways.

Something that is tricky :

I find it hard to do mathletics on an iPad so I use a laptop to Mosley it more easier.I also find it hard to get a lot of points now that  I have completed a lot of activities and there aren't many left .I also find some tasks challenging because it is things that I really don't know but I keep trying it until get it .

Today's reflection

Todays reflection for iExplore :

Today my favourite part of the day was idevelop and iExplore in Idevelop  we had a Tom and Jerry workshop we were listening to songs and were writing down how what did the key words make us feel like there was I hear , what it makes me think and what it makes me wonder . The song had really good messages and it was a good song to inference and summarise on.I also liked it because it was one of the songs I listen to Usally.For iExplore I liked to reasearch different types of art and how we can run a art club me an vrishti also liked to put in questions to answer our questions later.

What I found tricky:

In iDevelop I found it trick on the side where it said I wonder but I still managed to complete it and the other thing was tricky that the song was going really fast and it was hard to catch up .For iExplore we found it hard to answer some of the questions because they were challenging.

My Trip to the amazing temple

I feel very happy that I went to the temple because we got to explore it.I was with jasmine and there were only 7 LH3 learners in my group and 34 lH2 and 4 all together. So we had to look after the younger ones which was really hard but it was also fun. Something I enjoyed was watching the movie because it was very interesting .

I want to get better at looking after the younger ones and making sure we got to one place to another on time.

Friday's amazing day

Today I did my geometry challenge and also completed my Anzac challenge. My day went well because I managed to finish both challenges. I want to get better and faster at maths.I had been with Vrishti , Aleena , Margaret , Ash ,Jasmine and Mervlyn they all had different ideas for making their dictionary. 

So what...

What I did was my geometry challenge for the younger learners to help them get better at their shapes.In the ANZAC challenge which was yesterday I managed to complete 5 tasks. At iActive I did the water bucket challenge with team orange so what we had to do was get for buckets and put them opposite each other but they had to be further away.We got two cups and made two teams and each person took turns on filling the empty bucket with water and the team who finished first they win.

Now what...

My next steps are to be faster in my work and also make sure that I can become an independent learner.For maths I want to make sure I go to work shops that are suitable for me and learn things from it that I need to learn .

my ANZAC challenge

So this week we do our ANZAC challenge and we have to complete at least 5 task. We did a piece of paper to glue in our book and there were a bunch of task to finish.The ones I did was a acrostic poem which was very fun but we had to use proper words that fits in for poems.The next one I did was the alphabet key with was challenging for be because you had to name all the alphabet with a word which fits into ANZAC so we used a ANZAC dictionary which was making it easy to use. I started doing the recipe one where you had to create your own recipe for ANZAC biscuits and compare it with the real recipe. Something that I want to do next is the one where you write a letter to your family life u were a soldier from the ANZAC.

Week 8 reflection for math

What:

Today at iDevelop I did maths with some and me and Jasmine did a card game which was practising your basic facts.

So what:

Me and Jasmine were getting faster and faster at our basic facts,times table, subtraction and division. We were taking a longer time at our division and our times table.There was also a harder way to play it but me ad Jasmine thought of doing it next time.

Now what:

My next learning steps are to be more accurate at doing the division and our times table.I would also like to have a go at playing the harder way of the game.

IReflect for PE week 6

To day it was an amazing session for PE beacause we got to do Scatter ball . We did Scatter ball because so we could get better at throwing, aming and catching. 

So what we did was Scatter ball and I think I am getting better at my throwing. I did 4 runs which went up to 49 runs. Our team got 73 points.

I thought nj next time I can get better at throwing so I can get more runs.I could also get more points from running from the cones by running faster..

PAT test

Today the yr 7 and 6 did a PAT Test and it was a reading comprehension test down in the Multi space with Mr Mcnell.

we had 45 minutes to complete the test that was a long time to finish it.This was our third test.For this test it took me about 25-30 minutes.It was not that easy because we had to read a lot and their was 37 questions in the test.While we did the test Mr Mcnell help us read to out the questions if we didn't understand the question.

IReflect for week 4

Today I was connected with Neha at iExpierence because we did where does our rubbish go and so we did our PMI chart and we worked collaboratively.So we watched a video and we were trying to decide who would play the video and who will record information. So something we had to work on was that becouse we wasted our time deciding on who will play the video and who will record the information.

So what I was curious about is why do plastic things that can be recycled have a triangle on them and why do they have numbers ( 1-7 ) on them. So I am going to research about it at home and record the answers.

Now what I want to work on is finishing my blogs faster and so it will be easier for me to not do it in the weekends.

iReflect week 5

For to days prefect I liked to do art and PE. We got to do a few minutes of do each thing and we did PE first and art later.I like to do art because we got to blend in colours and do our good copy as a puzzle piece so I choose the colour yellow because I liked the ending part of it. It turns from dark yellow to light creamy yellow which looks nice and it also blends in quite well.For Pe we did 4 different types of activities and we had been splitter up into 4 groups so My first activity was doing crickets practise then amining the ball in the hoops then we had to aim to hit the cone. We only had time to do 3 activities.

So what I enjoyed was doing Pe because we had different activities and we had turns and everyone was being connected and had to be  collarative. What I enjoyed for art was doing my puzzle piece because we got to mix primary colours to make intermediate colours I also enjoyed setting up the art things like the paint pallet and setting the paint brushes.

What I need to work on (goal) is getting my aim better and practising at home and I think I would be able to do better by practicing my skills at home and iBreaks.For art I would want to get better at blending because I think I could have done a better job at blending colours and I think I could have been better at mixing the same amount of colours to make the same and right colour I want for my painting .

For this weeks we had a lot of fun because we had iActive in a fun way .We were doing iActive so how it goes is that one week we do the same thing like next week we will do octopus.This is how our time table goes for the whole day.
