Learning Observed
|
Nisita’s group was completing their daily 5 in which they get to independently choose from 5 different literacy activities. The activity Nisita chose was one called ‘Chicktionary’. It is an iPad app that allows the learner to create words from given letters. This app allows the learner to move up through ranks and levels so as well as the learning, it has a degree of competition to it. During this observation Nisita was becoming frustrated with how hard the level was and there was a small group of learners all trying to move past it.

Evidence of learning

This video shows Nisita playing Chicktionary as she explains how it works:

Key Competencies/Vision Principles
|
Nisita showed the capability of problem solving and using her knowledge of words to create new words using the letters she had available. As this is an independent task Nisita demonstrates the key competency of managing self and being able to use her thinking skills.
